Not every child grows up with a father or positive male role model in their life. Dads on Duty provides a consistent presence students can count on. Our volunteers greet students, listen to them, encourage them, and remind them that they matter.

A Visible Presence Makes a Real Difference
At Fort King Middle School, the program helped contribute to:
- Fewer student absences
- Fights decreasing from app ~14 per week to none on the days volunteers were present
- School offenses decreasing from approximately 3,700 to 1,500 in one year
- Recognition as the school’s Best Volunteer Group of the Year
- Growth from 20 volunteers to approximately 50

Do You Love Kids?
You do not have to be a father to make a difference. We need dependable men who are willing to give their time, encourage students, and serve as positive role models.
Volunteers may begin with just one hour a day. All volunteers must requalify annually and complete the required background screening.
Our Story
Dads on Duty Marion County began in 2022 after local leaders saw a television story about a similar group making a difference at a Louisiana school. Believing Marion County students could benefit from the same support, the program began at Fort King Middle School.
Volunteers initially greeted students near the bus ramp and parent drop-off area. As relationships and trust grew, they were eventually welcomed throughout the entire school campus.
